Community-Engaged Research on Trauma and PTSD To Understand Risk and Build Resilience

WHO WE ARE

The Grady Trauma Project

The Grady Trauma Project is a large-scale clinical research program studying civilian trauma based at Grady Memorial Hospital and the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Our project focuses on the biological, psychological, and social effects of trauma exposure and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Our studies recruit through Grady Memorial Hospital and the surrounding Atlanta community through self referral, patient screening, and direct referrals from providers.

We seek to create a safe environment in which individuals are free to be themselves and those with diverse backgrounds, identities, experiences, and viewpoints are welcome. Fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all is our mission and we are committed to combatting the multiple aspects of academia, science, and research that are not equitable and impose the systemic exclusion and oppression of marginalized people.
