Katelyn is a graduate student in the Emory Neuroscience Graduate Program. She received two B.S. degrees in Biology and Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2017. During her undergraduate studies, Katelyn worked in the Georgia Emotion NeuroImaging Lab under Dr. Dean Sabatinelli where she explored EEG evoked potentials while viewing emotional imagery. After graduation, she worked as a clinical research coordinator for Dr. Edward F. Pace-Schott at Massachusetts General Hospital investigating how sleep quality impacts fear-conditioning and extinction-recall in individuals with trauma exposure and PTSD. Katelyn’s current research goals are to investigate the mechanisms of trauma-related disorders, especially through the lens of neuroimaging and early life stress. Outside of lab, she enjoys crafting, hiking, and spending time with her family.
