Emma Lathan

Emma Lathan, PhD, joined the Grady Trauma Project as a clinical post-doctoral fellow in August 2021. She is working under the mentorship of Dr. Abigail Lott. Dr. Emma Lathan completed her B.A. in Psychology at Auburn University and her Ph.D. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology at University of South Alabama. She recently completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. During her graduate studies, Dr. Lathan developed a program of research investigating how post-trauma interaction with the criminal justice and healthcare systems impact gender-based violence victims’ physical and mental health and system engagement. Currently, her research focuses on enhancing Grady Health System patient and providers’ outcomes via system-wide adoption and evaluation of trauma-informed care.
