We in the Ressler Genetics Laboratory work to organize and manage saliva, plasma, serum, whole blood, and urine samples, received from the GTP clinical site. Saliva is aliquoted and DNA is extracted in the lab using Beckman Coulter Automation Workstation in preparation for GWAS analysis at the Max Planck Institute, Munich Germany. We also perform SNP genotyping on platforms such as Taqman and Sequenom. Plasma and serum samples are prepared in our lab and shipped out for various assays such as estradiol, cortisol, ACTH, and Dex. Lastly, the Ressler lab is involved in many other interesting genotyping projects with collaborators at different universities and departments within Emory University.
