Publications:

Main takeaway: Children learn the difference between fear and safety better when their mother is present, there is no difference for adolescents.

Main Takeaway: African American women served in urban hospital settings experience very high rates of trauma exposure and subsequent PTSD and depression yet access to treatment remains limited.

Main Takeaway: The brain areas involved with processing and controlling fear are dysfunctional in civilian women with PTSD.

Main Takeaways: Having higher levels of CRP, a blood inflammation marker, is linked with greater PTSD symptoms, increased physiological hyperarousal, and greater odds of a PTSD diagnosis, supporting previous studies that link proinflammatory states and PTSD.
